Fears about walking around and using public transit in New York City have risen dramatically over the last 2 years. Women, especially women of color, have been disproportionally targeted as victims of these attacks. They generally conduct their daily lives with more caution and fear.

Streetwise is an app designed to assist women and female-presenting individuals in accessing 
New York City safely, especially if by themselves at night.

By providing multiple channels of communication, a wide range of emergency and general safety features, and accessible, NYC-specific information and resources, Streetwise can serve as the perfect tool to help users feel less anxious while navigating the city that never sleeps.
